5.1.4. Carburetor adjustment

GENERAL INFORMATION

Conditions of carrying out adjustment

If on the car the system of maintenance of constant speed of idling is established, it is necessary to disconnect all electric equipment of the car and to establish directly forward wheels before adjustment of speed of idling or a fuel mix (or before adjustment of a corner of an advancing of ignition or duration of the closed condition of contacts of the breaker). Otherwise, the system of stabilization will be active, and adjustment will be wrong.

Disconnect a vacuum hose from the jack of system of idling at high temperature of the engine (if it is established) and stop up a branch pipe on the carburetor.

Adjustment of frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft when idling the engine and quantity of a fuel mix of idling (WITH)

Screws of adjustment of idling
1. The screw of adjustment of frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft at operation of the engine in an idling mode

2. Screw of adjustment of a mix of idling
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Increase speed of operation of the engine to 3000 rpm and hold it at this level within 30 seconds for cleaning of an inlet collector from паров fuels, then leave the engine to work in an idling mode.
2. By means of the screw of adjustment of speed of idling, adjust frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft when idling engine (cм. subsection 5.1.1).
3. Check level WITH; if it differs from specified (see subsection 5.1.1), remove a seal and adjust position of the screw of adjustment of quantity of a mix of idling for receiving the correct level WITH. Screw rotation clockwise (twisting) reduces level WITH, screw rotation counter-clockwise (twisting) increases level WITH. If you have no WITH sensor, operation of adjustment of quantity of a mix of idling without use of the WITH sensor is described in the corresponding chapter.
4. Repeat the operations described above while both adjustments will not be correct.
5. Clear an inlet collector each 30 seconds at carrying out adjustment, increasing frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft to 3000 rpm for 30 seconds.
6. Lift frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft to 2000 rpm and measure level WITH. The received value should be level less than a half WITH at operation of the engine in an idling mode.
7. Establish a new seal on the screw of adjustment of quantity of a mix on termination of adjustment.

Installation of level of fuel in poplavkovy chamber / adjustment of a course of a float

Window of the poplavkovy chamber

Fuel level in the poplavkovy chamber can be checked, without removing the carburetor. When the engine works, level of fuel can be checked through a viewing window of the poplavkovy chamber. If level of fuel does not correspond to a mark, adjustment is necessary.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Uncover the carburetor, being guided by the instructions provided in subsection 5.1.3.
2. Overturn a carburetor cover so that the float looked up, and the needle valve was closed.
3. Measure distance of "N" (height of installation of a float) between a cover of the carburetor and a plastic float (without laying). Check, that the height of installation of a float was such as it is specified in subsection 5.1.1.
4. Adjust height of installation of a float, having bent the lever of a float "And".
N.Vysota of float installation
5. Overturn a cover of the carburetor and check, that the float fell, as far as it is allowed by a restrictive uvula.
6. Measure distance of "L" (a float course) between a cover of the carburetor and the bottom party of a float. Compare the received value to the value specified in subsection 5.1.1.
7. Adjust a float course, having bent a restrictive uvula "In".

Adjustment of a mechanical air zaslonka

Before adjustment of an air zaslonka check, that frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft when idling and quantity of a mix of idling were correctly adjusted.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Remove the air filter. Disconnect a hose of ventilation of a case of the engine. Vacuum hoses should remain connected (or disconnect them and stop up openings).

Adjustment of fast idling – the carburetor is removed from the engine

Verification of the provision of an air zaslonka at operation of the engine in a mode of fast idling

1. Air zaslonka

2. A butterfly valve – the primary chamber

3. Gap

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. For adjustment of system of fast idling the carburetor is necessary for removing from the engine.
2. Overturn the carburetor and by means of the lever of an air zaslonka completely close an air zaslonka.
3. The adjusting screw will open a butterfly valve, forming a small gap.
4. By means of a shaft of a drill measure gap size between a wall of the chamber of the carburetor and butterfly valve edge (see fig. Verification of the provision of an air zaslonka at operation of the engine in a mode of fast idling). Compare the received value to the value specified in subsection 5.1.1.
5. Adjust gap size, having bent connecting draft in a point 1.

Automatic air zaslonka

Conditions of carrying out adjustment of an automatic air zaslonka were specified (see subsection 5.1.1).

Adjustment of fast idling – at the working engine

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Slightly open a butterfly valve a little and establish the lever of fast idling on the top tooth of a cam of fast idling.
2. Start the engine, without pressing an accelerator pedal, and note frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft of the engine in a mode of fast idling. Compare the received frequency to the value specified in subsection 5.1.1.
3. Adjust frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft, rotating the screw of adjustment of speed of fast idling in the demanded direction.

Adjustment of fast idling (model with a semi-automatic air zaslonka) – the carburetor is removed from the engine

Adjustment of fast idling

1. Cam of system of fast idling

2. Adjusting screw

3. Lever of system of fast idling

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Overturn the carburetor, then slightly open a butterfly valve and establish the lever of fast idling on the second tooth of a cam of fast idling. The adjusting screw will open a butterfly valve, forming a small gap.
2. Check, that the air zaslonka was completely closed. By means of a shaft of a drill measure size of a gap of "G" between a wall of the chamber of the carburetor and butterfly valve edge (see fig. Adjustment of fast idling). Compare the received value to the value specified in subsection 5.1.1.
3. Adjust gap size, having turned the adjusting screw in the demanded direction.
