4.13. Systems of air conditioning and heating

GENERAL INFORMATION

Within maintenance it is necessary to carry out the following checks regularly:

Check a condition of a driving belt of the compressor. If necessary replace a belt.

Check a tension of a belt and if necessary adjust it.

Examine system hoses on existence of cracks, swellings, and the ground places. If necessary replace hoses.

Examine edges of the refrigerator and clean the dirt which has got stuck in them.

Check pressure of a coolant.

Check
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Warm up the engine to working temperature.
2. Establish the handle of adjustment of temperature in the provision of cold air. Include the maximum speed of the delivery fan.
3. After central air will reach working temperature, touch two tubes connected to the refrigerator.
4. Thinner tube should be cold, and thicker tube should be even colder (about-16 ° With or-12 ° C).
5. If the thick tube is much warmer, than thin, the system should be charged in addition a coolant. Insert the thermometer into the center of a ventilating opening. The air temperature, arriving of an opening should be lower on 20-25 ° With what air temperature. If not so, system it is necessary to charge it in addition a coolant, for this purpose address to the expert.

COOLANT

Set for central air additional charge by a coolant

Additional charge of central airs of later models in which coolant R-134a is used, any motorist can independently carry out. For this purpose it is necessary to get a special set for additional charge.

For additional charge of central air of air by a coolant, two types of coolant R-12 and R-134a are used. The systems charged by coolant R-12, are used mainly on early models (1993). Maintenance of these systems is necessary for carrying out in specialized workshops.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Connect a hose to the valve located on a tube of a coolant or on a moisture separator.
2. Close contacts (are specified by an arrow) pressure switch by means of a crossing point that the compressor continued to work when you charge system a coolant.

HEATING SYSTEM

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Measure the air temperature, arriving of a ventilating opening.
2. Examine a hose of the block of a heater and the evaporator, check, that it was not littered.

If the air arriving from ventilating openings, not hot, a problem can consist in the following:

а) The thermostat jammed in open situation. Replace the thermostat.

б) The hose of a radiator of a heater is littered. Wash out hoses of a radiator and a radiator.

в) The heater radiator is littered. If to wash out a radiator it is not possible, replace it.

If the delivery fan works not in all modes, see subsection 4.9.

If air does not arrive from ventilating openings:

а) Include ignition and the delivery fan. Listen, whether the fan motor works.

б) If the motor does not work, replace it.

If from ventilating openings steam or an antifreeze smell arrives, means, the radiator of a heater which it is necessary to replace proceeds.

CENTRAL AIR SMELLS

For removal of the smells arising in central air of air, usually use special disinfectants. And, though, the best decision would be to address in a specialized workshop, you can process central air elements.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Remove the resistor of the delivery fan and process disinfectant structure the evaporator.
