3.3.7. Gas-distributing belt and asterisks
GENERAL INFORMATION

Sinkhronizatsionnye of a label of a cranked shaft

Sinkhronizatsionnye of a camshaft label – a back row of cylinders

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a wire of the minus plug of the accumulator.
2. Weaken a bolt of a pulley of the water pump. Remove a driving belt of the pump of system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel and a driving belt of the generator. Remove a pulley of the water pump.
3. Establish the N1 piston in VMT.
4. Weaken bolts of a forward right wheel.
5. Put the car on the hand brake and block back wheels. Lift and fix a forward part of the car. Remove the right forward wheel.
6. Remove a mudguard of the right forward wing.
7. Establish a jack under the engine, slightly raise it and remove the right support of the engine.
8. Twist spark plugs.
9. Unscrew two bolts of an arm of a natyazhitel of a driving belt (are specified by shooters) and remove a natyazhitel.
10. Disconnect wires from the sensor of a cranked shaft and the temperature sensor.
11. Remove a pulley of a cranked shaft.
12. Remove a pulley of the pump of system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel.
13. Unscrew the bottom bolts of a cover of a gas-distributing belt (are specified by shooters).
14. Remove an elevating arm of the engine (And) and unscrew three bolts of a cover of a gas-distributing belt (are specified by shooters).
15. After twisting of the remained bolts (are specified by shooters), uncover also laying. Lift the receiver щупа for measurement of level of oil.
16. If you are going to use a gas-distributing belt repeatedly, make on it a label specifying the direction of its rotation.
17. Combine sinkhronizatsionny labels of an asterisk of a cranked shaft and a label of asterisks of camshafts (see Sinkhronizatsionnye's fig. of a label of a cranked shaft, camshaft Sinkhronizatsionnye's fig. of a label – a forward number of cylinders, camshaft Sinkhronizatsionnye's fig. of a label – a back row of cylinders).
18. Unscrew two bolts of a natyazhitel of a gas-distributing belt (And) and remove a natyazhitel. Weaken a bolt of a pulley of a natyazhitel (In).
19. Remove a gas-distributing belt.
20. If asterisks of camshafts are damaged, now you can remove them and replace.
21. Remove an asterisk of a cranked shaft and replace it if it is damaged.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Examine a gas-distributing belt (see subsection 3.1.8).
2. By means of a vice, compress the piston of a natyazhitel so that you could insert a core in thickness of 1,5 mm into the second bottom opening of a natyazhitel.
3. Check, that intermediate pulleys rotated freely.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Carefully clean area of installation of a gas-distributing belt in a forward part of the engine.
2. Establish an asterisk of a cranked shaft.
3. Temporarily twist a bolt of a pulley of a cranked shaft and turn a shaft counter-clockwise to combine a label on an asterisk of a cranked shaft with a label on an engine case.
4. Establish a gas-distributing belt.
5. Establish a natyazhitel (with the compressed piston and with the core inserted into the bottom opening) and tighten its bolts.
6. Get a core from an opening of a natyazhitel. Turn a cranked shaft on two complete revolutions (720 °). Check, whether still sinkhronizatsionny labels of asterisks (see Sinkhronizatsionnye's fig. of a label of a cranked shaft, camshaft Sinkhronizatsionnye's fig. of a label – a forward number of cylinders, camshaft Sinkhronizatsionnye's fig. of a label – a back row of cylinders) are combined.
Prevention

Do not get the engine until you will not be absolutely convinced that the gas-distributing belt is established correctly. If the belt is established incorrectly, the engine can receive serious damages.

7. Tighten a bolt of a pulley of a natyazhitel.
8. Establish the remained details upside-down.
