3.7.4.1. Ignition coil

Check
PERFORMANCE ORDER
Ignition systems with the ignition distributor
1. Check, that ignition was switched off.
2. Disconnect the socket of connection of the coil of ignition and check resistance of primary winding: on models 1993 and 1994 of years of release check resistance between plugs A and C; on models of 1995-1997 of release check resistance between plugs A and B.
3. Check resistance of a secondary winding of the coil of ignition: on models 1993 and 1994 of years of release check resistance between the plug C and the plug of a wire of a high voltage; on models of 1995-1997 of release check resistance between the plug A and the plug of a wire of a high voltage.
4. Replace the ignition coil if it is necessary.
Ignition system without the ignition distributor
5. Disconnect the socket of connection of primary windings of the coil. Measure resistance between the minus plug and each of plusovy plugs.
6. Mark wires of a high voltage and disconnect them from the coil. Check resistance between pairs of plugs: on models with the 4-cylinder engine check resistance between the top and bottom pairs of plugs; on models with the 6-cylinder engine check a sorotivleniye between pairs of the A-B plugs, C–D and E–F.
7. Replace the coil if it is necessary.

Replacement
PERFORMANCE ORDER
Ignition systems with the ignition distributor
1. Disconnect a wire of the minus plug of the accumulator.
2. If the coil of ignition is integrated into the ignition distributor, it is necessary to replace the distributor.
3. For replacement of the external coil of ignition, disconnect connection sockets from the coil, turn off fixing nuts and remove the coil.
4. Installation is carried out upside-down removals.
Ignition system without the ignition distributor
5. Mark and disconnect wires of a high voltage.
6. Turn off fixing bolts (are specified by shooters) and remove the coil.
7. Installation is carried out upside-down removals.
