3.5.14. Removal of a cranked shaft

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before removing a cranked shaft, measure its free wheeling by means of the special device or with the help щупа near the persistent bearing. If the gap more than is required, examine half rings of the persistent bearing on wear existence if half rings are not worn-out, it is necessary to establish new to adjust a gap.
2. Covers of radical bearings should be numbered on increasing, from a forward cover to back if it not so, number them. Usually on covers there is an arrow who is directed towards a forward part of the engine. Weaken bolts of covers in stages on 1/4 turn. In six-cylinder engines unscrew bolts of the block of covers in the specified sequence.
3. Remove covers and get loose leaves of bearings.
4. Remove a cranked shaft.
